Terry Serio's Ministry of Truth

Terry Serio's Ministry Of Truth play gorgeous and gritty Australian urban roots music: songs of love, loss, disillusion, addiction, brushes with the law, divine providence and redemption... tall tales and true that draw their musical and lyrical inspiration from the deep well of authentic roots country styles and themes with discernible influences from the likes of Hank Williams, Lou Reed and Gillian Welch.

Terry Serio's Ministry Of Truth began in a Surry Hills lounge room when Terry played a series of recently written songs to Jon Schofield (Paul Kelly and the Coloured Girls/Messengers) who picked up a bass guitar and played along and the seed that became The Ministry was sewn.

The current sound and lineup was established early in 2010 with: Jon Schofield on guitar, mandolin and accordion; Jason Burec rock steady on drums; the Kaldor Brothers, John (pedal steel) and Peter (bass); and with violinist/piano accordionist Kathryn Brownhill (Something For Kate, The Whitlams, The Gadflys) comes the most recent touch of textural colour.

The band are seasoned festival performers and will perform at the Illawarra Folk Festival and Gulgong Folk Festivals in 2014/15.

Terry Serio’s Ministry Of Truth recently released Who’s To Cry which is available now  on itunes.

The first CD, Oblivion is available for download through: iTunes or CD Baby
